This is a pine tree in my yard. It has survived many winters and has many more to go!
This is one of my many rhododendrons. It surprisingly is still alive for this kind of weather. This is a tree i found in my woods. The leaves are kind of dead but they are still orange from fall! This is Lichen I found on a tree in my front yard. It is not rough and scratchy, but actually soft and flimsy. There used to be a lot on this tree, but there is little now. This is moss i found on the bottom of a tree. Its moist and squish from all the melted snow that was on it. The moss is very alive which its normally kind of dead now, so thats weird. This is a sprout of a crocus flower. They normally don't come out until the very end of winter but, i think from all the warm weather and melted snow they sprouted early. I wonder if it will stay alive for as long as they normally do? Here is an oak tree I found that has lost almost all of its leaves, except for a few dead brown ones. Since the weather is warm out, I think the leaves will grow back soon. I've always wanted to know how long it takes for leaves to grow back. These Rhododendron Bushes were dead 2 weeks ago, but are now alive due to the warm weather and lots of water. Some are still droopy, but most are fully alive. This is a birch tree i found in my backyard. I know that in the summer this trees bark was white, but it is now grey. I wonder why? also why is it red and brown inside? This is some Buxus Koreana. It looks like it had just en planted and so new, but it has been there all winter. Here is a birds nest inside the frame of my treehouse. It has been here for a long time, and i'm not sure if any birds are still living in it, but there used to be some. This is the grass from my backyard. most of it is like 1/2 dead but some is still alive. We don't really water it or put seed down around this time so its pretty bad. ALso lots of moss is growing around it. One of the trees in the back of my yard is covered in moss and vines. I wonder if this is because it doesn't get much light? This is a lady bug I found. There were lot of them around, but some were black with red spots and some were red with black spots. I wonder if ladybugs have nests and that's why s many of them are in one place at a time. Here is a pine tree that was in my yard. I noticed that the branches and trunk on a lot of pine trees are thinner or skinnier that oak and maple trees. I wonder why this is? This is Sugarbush mt in VT. There are many trees and bbushes on it. I also noticed it was covered in grey. Is that trees or is it dirt or just gross snow. Here is a picture of a needle leaf pine tree. It has been here for a very long time. I observed that parts that we have cut the branches, have grown their bark back really fast. It also grows in the same pattern and besides the circle mark, it blends in. how does this happen? This is a buxus green gem plant. It normally alive all year, and i don't remember it really ever dying. How does a plant stay alive in cold weather without water and for so many years? Here is a picture of a red thorny bush from the woods. I saw a lot of it but it was not clumped near each other. They are very lond and mostof them curl over to touch th ground. This is a picture of animal scat. I think it is from coyotes cause i hear them all at night. Its pretty gross but ya. |
